The Outback Car Trek is an annual event (held in June each year) that donates the funds it raises each year to The Royal Flying Doctor Service. Since our inception in 1990 we have raised in excess of $32,500,000 for the Royal Flying Doctor Service. The Trek is well known as the premier Charity Car Rally in rural Australia today.
Trek 2022 finished in Hervey Bay on 11 June 2022 and was a resounding success - raising more than $1,050,000 for the RFDS.
Trek 2023 will be a longer than normal event and will travel from a location to be decided in West Australia to Far North Queensland - most likely Cairns, tbc. The route and the overnight towns are in the process of being designed, and probably will not be known until September.
The dates are also still up in the air, but most like will start in WA on or about Saturday night 3rd June 2023 and end in FNQ probably Saturday 17 June 2023.
Our Trek is an event for older 2WD cars, and all of the cars are specially prepared to cope with the fun of outback and remote dirt road driving.
