The Outback Car Trek:-
The Outback Car Trek is an annual event for older model 2 WD cars that donates the funds it raises each year to The Royal Flying Doctor Service.
Cars are specially prepared to endure the rigours of outback dirt road driving and are subject to a safety check before we head off each year. If you are interested in entering a car, or joining an established team, please drop us a line and we can help you on your way.
We encourage you to make a donation to the RFDS via a secure web link by clicking HERE Your donation, large or small, will help the RFDS continue to provide vital health care to 773 people per day - that's one person every two minutes.
The 2016 Trek will commence in Narrabri NSW on Sunday morning June 5th 2016 and will finish at Port Douglas on Saturday 11 June 2016.
2016 Entry Forms, 2016 Supplementary Regulations and 2016 Route Outline documents for both events are now available from the "How to Enter" tab on the roadsign on the top left hand side of this page.
ALSO - we have planned an additional "The Trip To The Tip" of Cape York event (TTTTT) for 4WD vehicles only, leaving Port Douglas on Tuesday morning 14th June, arriving at the tip of Cape York on the Monday 20th June 2016. There are a limited number of 4x4 spots available for TTTTT, and first option into the event will be given to crews who have shown their support for the RFDS by completing the 2WD Trek.
